It was a rainy overcast day, but the possibilities were obvious.  A spectacular live shot out the windows, birds wheeling through the air, steam rising from rooftops.  The view had never been used before:  the low roofs of Hell's Kitchen in the foreground; midtown Manhattan as the backdrop.  The dominant buildings were Worldwide Plaza.  I picked the two adjacent windows with the best views, and went to work with designer Michael Hotopp.  The challenge: how to take one small bit of a booming raw space and turn it into a room in a comfortably decorated loft space?
